The CariFin Games 2026 Urban Challenge season begins this evening — 5:00 PM at Queen's Park Savannah. Three events. Four weeks. Every point counts. And this evening's One Lap Savannah has the most compelling start line this competition has seen in 35 years.

Here is who to watch. Here is where to find the start. Here is what's at stake.

Who to Watch

Curtis Cox — The Fifteen-Minute Declaration

Curtis Cox — ANSA Financial Services
Curtis Cox — ANSA Financial Services

Curtis Cox runs for ANSA Financial Services. Four-time CariFin cross country champion. Four-time national Road Runner of the Year. Marathon PB of 2 hours 21 minutes.

He has looked at the course and said one thing:

The One Lap Savannah is a sprint. I am looking at 15 minutes. Curtis Cox

The 2025 course record is 15:30. Cox is back to rewrite it.

Anton Robinson — The Man Who Swept 2025

Anton Robinson — First Citizens
Anton Robinson — First Citizens

Anton Robinson of First Citizens won every running event CariFin put in front of him in 2025 — One Lap, Green Mile, Chancellor Challenge, Cross Country. This evening he is not defending one title. He is defending everything.

Brian Jeremie — A Legacy Beyond the Trophy

Brian Jeremie of Central Bank has won the One Lap Savannah walking category three consecutive times. Under CariFin tradition, that earns him permanent possession of the Wayne Roberts Challenge Trophy.

This evening is not about silverware — it is already his forever. This evening is about cementing his place as the finest walker CariFin has ever produced.

Kris Deonanan — Nine Years of Unfinished Business

Kris Deonanan was the 2017 CariFin cross country champion running for Guardian Group. Guardian is back in 2026 — and so is Deonanan, entered for all three Urban Challenge events, with nine years of unfinished business driving every stride.

The Women — Empty Thrones, Open Doors

With the Ministry of Finance out of the competition in 2026, both female titles are wide open. Watch Alissa Ali (Scotiabank) in the running category. Watch Cherisse Pierre (Sagicor) and Twila Reis (Scotiabank) settle a walking rivalry that 2025 left completely unresolved.

And the Team Story — Scotiabank Arrive to Defend

Shay Gonzales — Scotiabank
Shay Gonzales — Scotiabank. 2024 Overall CariFin Male Champion.

Defending overall champions Scotiabank arrive with Shay Gonzales — 2024 overall CariFin male champion, 4th in last year's One Lap — alongside Clinton Williams and Alissa Ali. They won 2025 with 1,025.47 points. The defence begins this evening.

Where to Find the Start

The One Lap Savannah begins on the internal road at Queen's Park Savannah, opposite Victoria Avenue, near the back of the Grand Stand foyer.

From the start, participants move along the road parallel to the Grand Stand, then take the first exit out of the Savannah opposite Dundonald Street onto the inner lane of Queen's Park West. From there, runners and walkers continue clockwise around the Queen's Park Savannah, completing one full lap before re-entering and finishing on the same internal road opposite Victoria Avenue.

Runners depart first. Walkers immediately after.

One lap of the most iconic circuit in Trinidad and Tobago. Approximately 3.5 kilometres. Clockwise. That's the course. That's the canvas. This evening, the start line is a masterpiece.

What's at Stake

The 2026 edition is a leaner, sharper CariFin. Three Urban Challenge events across four weeks. One Aerobics Burnout. No event to throw away. Every point carries maximum weight. The overall title — and institutional bragging rights for the whole 35th Anniversary season — is decided here.

Champions have come back. Thrones have been left empty. Rivalries are sharpened. At 5:00 PM this evening, the Savannah delivers its verdict.

Come Out. Be Part of It.

CariFin Games 2026 is leaner, sharper, more focused than any edition before it. Three Urban Challenge events. Four weeks. No margin. The season is won and lost in the details.

Wednesday evening, bring the family. Bring a chair. Bring a camera. Find a spot along the Savannah loop, and come and witness something we've been building toward for thirty-five years. The public is warmly invited. There is no charge. There is no pre-registration. There is only a start line, a flame, and a field of runners and walkers who have something to prove.

Champions have returned. Thrones are vacant. Rivals are ready. And a Savannah that has witnessed 35 years of CariFin Games history is about to produce another unforgettable chapter. Wayne Roberts, Founder & President

See you at the start line.
